4-track Collaboration - 5090 2018

This is an actual cassette that was mailed around to four different FAWMers via snail mail. Each person added one track and mailed it to the next person. The song is a mystery to the early participants until it is transferred to computer and mixed by the last person.

The players on this tape are listed below in the order in which they recorded their parts:

Guitar: marvsmooth
Bass: Vom Vorton
Lyrics/Vocal: Wobbie Wobbit
Electric Piano/Mix: Nancy Rost

Not The Same

Something’s changed
It’s not the same
Something’s changed
It’s not the same

Sitting here alone
I’m used to life on my own
Just me and my personal possessions
Snapshot souvenirs and personal expressions

Amid my clutter of junk
There is an emptiness
where there is space
there hangs a heaviness
When you’ve been round even after you’ve gone
The friendship that we found, it kind of carries on

Like you left something here
I can’t articulate it
It’s in the atmosphere
Something recalibrated
It’s in the air
There’s something there
Can’t put my finger on

In every room that I go
There’s unfamiliar
All the things that i know
Different but similar
And what you’ve left behind
Just cannot be defined
Some things just linger on

Sitting here alone again
Parts of you remain
The stuff of you that makes you individual
Did you know that some of it’s residual
You came in interrupting my ritual
You came in and changed my habitual
Even though I sit in isolation
Things are better for some outside stimulation

Like you left something here
I can’t articulate it
It’s in the atmosphere
Something recalibrated
It’s in the air
There’s something there
Can’t put my finger on
In every room that I go
There’s unfamiliar
All the things that I know
Different but similar
What you have left behind
Just cannot be defined
Some things just linger on

It’s not the same
Something’s changed
It’s not the same
